CAREER HISTORY

Website designer Otto - UK 06/07 - Present

Working on the newly launched Oli brand I am responsible for the updating and maintaining the Oli website. I am responsible for homepage re-designs and updates, as well as designing and developing the twice weekly newsletter. I have worked on various other projects including the Oli Christmas microsite and teh ON|OFF microsite. All work is carried out to W3C standards and under strict deadline.

Website designer and developer One Advertisng 01/07 - 06/07

I was responsible for developing websites for One Advertising clients, these included Flamingoland, Atlas washrooms and Alexanders Motor Company. The Flamingoland website was built using Joomla content management system to allow the site to be updated quickly and easily. The site also featured various Flash elements which were integrated into the cms. The Alexanders Motor Company website was a content managed website allowing the user to update the used car database quickly and easily as new stock arrived and vehicles were sold. This site was built using XHTML / CSS and PHP with mySql. The Atlas washrooms website was a static brochure site built to W3C standards usign XHTML and CSS.

Front end developer River Interactive / IAS Smarts 11/06 - 12/06

I was employed as a front end developer at IAS Smarts. I worked on several projects built using the Umbraco MS .Net CMS, as well as building the First Group Graduate website using XHTML and CSS and including various PHP features. The majority of teh work was carried out using Microsoft Visual Studio and Dreamweaver.

Website Designer and Developer Made You Look 10/06 – 11/06

I was responsible for the development of www.essentialdarling.com. I took the Photoshop design files and created the static XHTML and CSS site. This was carried out to W3C standards and has achieved high levels of cross browser compatibility. The next stage of the project is to create a PHP and mySQl eCommerce feature to allow users to purchase their services online.

Website Designer Ripe Design 09/06 – 09/06

I worked on several projects for Ripe Design. These included a website for Altius Property Developments. The design was carried out using XHTML and CSS to W3C standards. www.ripe.co.uk

Freelance Website Designer and Developer AJ New Media 08/06 – 12/06

I have worked on several projects for AJ New Media. These include a full lifecycle design and development project for www.arkpro.co.uk where I designed the site and developed a small scale content management system to enable them to add and update the news on the site. This was done using PHP and mySQL. The front end was developed using CSS and XHTML to the latest W3C web standards.

Front End Developer Branded 3 08/06 – 08/06

I was involved in the Front End Development of www.niddvale.co.uk in order to meet the launch date. Using Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 I amended and updated the HTML code and CSS in line with the customer’s requirements.

Website Designer (contract) Mamas & Papas 06/06 – 08/06

Working within a design team of 2 I am responsible for the redesign of the Mamas & Papas Ecommerce website. We are working to a tight deadline in order to release the autumn / winter site on schedule. The work I am doing involves using PHP / smarty includes to create template files for the site and Macromedia Flash movies. I am also responsible for the creation of HTML e-shots which are sent out to 65,000+ people each week, as well as maintaining and updating the current Mamas & Papas website. www.mamasandpapas.co.uk

Photoshop / Website Designer (contract) First Direct 04/06 – 05/06

As part of a 3 man design team I was responsible for the redesign and development of the Marks and Spencer Money website. This project utilized Adobe Photoshop 7 for the design templates. PHP and mySQL Developer (contract) County Meds 03/06 –03/06

I was involved in updating the mySQL database on this eCommerce site to make it more efficient and I also added several pages to the website using PHP, to enable payments to be taken from the customers before a doctor’s consultation could be scheduled. www.countymeds.com .

Website Developer (contract) Pearson Crossland Direct 03/06 -03/06

I was involved in the redevelopment of a 20 plus page brochure site for www.fasciamania.co.uk utilizing HTML, CSS, DHTML and JavaScript. This site was developed to W3C web standards. Packages used were Macromedia Dreamweaver 8, Fireworks 8 and Adobe Photoshop CS2.

Flash Actionscript Developer (contract) The Juice Group 01/06 – 02/06

My main responsibility was the creation of multimedia presentations and web content for www.corusconstruction.com, using Macromedia Flash 8 and Dreamweaver 8. Actionscript 2.0 was used extensively throughout these projects. JavaScript Forms Developer (contract) Trigold 10/05 – 01/06

I was responsible for both the design and development of online mortgage application forms for Trigold’s Prospector AAA application, using a combination of JavaScript, HTML, XML and CSS. www.trigold.co.uk. Packages used were Altova XML spy, Focus Goal Suite and Eclipse.

I worked on various websites for different clients on a freelance basis, whilst studying for my Master Certified Internet Webmaster qualification, workign on various projects for local businesses.
